
Based in Los Angeles, Michael Marconi is the President and owner of Alternate Reality Entertainment. He is
also the V.P., Secretary and Janitor.
Michael graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, with a degree in Film and Television. Upon moving to
Los Angeles in 1993, Michael worked as a Director of Photography, shooting both Music Videos, Commercials,
and Comedy Interstitials. He has worked with comedians such as Ben Stiller, Janeane Garofalo, Andy Dick,
Jamie Kennedy, Kathy Griffin and Dave Chappelle. In 1995...Michael was nominated for a Cable Ace Award for
his work on Comedy Central's “Pipeline” series.
Later that year, Michael decided to explore the world of post-production and changed his focus to editing.
Since then he has worked for such companies as Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, Fox, Columbia Tristar, ABC,
CBS, MTV and VH1. Michael has cut a multitude of movie trailers, promos, commercials, music videos, reality
shows, documentaries, short films, and long form programs.
Michael's promo work has included editing for such series and films as Friends, ER, Will & Grace, The West
Wing, The Drew Carey Show, Goodfellas, JFK, Air Force One, Mr. Nice Guy, Batman Returns, and Con Air.
Michael was nominated for a 1999 Key Art Award and has won several Promax Gold and Silver awards for his
various promo campaigns. At VH1, Michael edited several episodes of the Emmy award-winning documentary
series Behind the Music.
Michael has written and directed spots for the Warner Bros. TV show The People's Court, as well as spots for
The Movie Channel and Converse All Stars. He has also directed music videos for Moody Blues' front-man
Justin Hayward and New York rock sensation Wookiee.
When he’s not shooting or editing Michael is writing. He has penned six feature length screenplays and his
latest, “The Perfect Wedding” was a sixth place award winner in the 2005 American Screenplay competition,
sponsored by Hollywood Scriptwriter magazine and Final Draft.
In 2006 Michael, wrote, acted, directed and produced several sketches for E! Television's "The Chelsea Handler
Show". Also in 2006, Michael and his long time friend and co-executive producer, Keith Brauneisen, completed
working on the sketch comedy pilot "THE KIKI B SHOW." They, along with Michael’s brother Jason (the show’s
graphic designer), spent many hours putting together the pilot episode of what they hope is a long and
successful comedy series.
